Gravel Grinder Bicycling Event: Logo and brand development
A proposed cycling event, in the Flambeau River region of Wisconsin, that combines on and off-road recreational cycling, needed a logo for possible merchandise (t-shirts, trucker caps, decals) and branding. Elements of the design could change depending upon the appeal of the stakeholders (the individual event organizer, city, county, and regional tourism board, and governmental groups).
The event organizer had previous experience with events and thought about a vintage vibe/look to provide implied trust and tradition for a new event. Costs were also a concern so the black and white options were considered first, before knowing if the budget would allow for more colors.
